Gadjah Mada University (UGM)

Gadjah Mada University (UGM) is a public research university located in Sleman, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Officially founded on 19 December 1949, the Gadjah Mada University is one of the oldest and largest institutions of higher education in the country.


Comprising 18 faculties and 27 research centres, UGM offers 68 undergraduates, 23 diploma, 104 master and specialist, 43 doctorate and 4 clusters of post-doctoral study programs. The UGM has approximately 55,000 students, 1,187 foreign students and 2,500 faculty members currently and has been one of the most prestigious universities in Indonesia.




The Gadjah Mada University maintains a campus of 360 acres (150 ha), with facilities that include a stadium and a fitness centre. Students are given the chance to study abroad to Indonesia, specifically to this university by the Eagle Eye where educopolis area is implemented. Some of the steps are reducing pollution and vehicle exhaust emissions, development of pedestrian, restriction of vehicles entering the campus, construction of new dormitories on the campus, development of parking pockets, planting the trees green and many more.
