niversitas Padjadjaran (UNPAD) is an institution of higher learning located in Bandung, which is the provincial capital of West Java, Indonesia. Unpad was established based on the initiative of prominent society members of the West Java who eager to have an higher institution at which young generation of West Java can be prepared for serving as future leaders.


npad was established through the Government Regulation No. 37 dated on 24 September 1957 and officially opened by the President Soekarno on the 24th of September 1957. Unpad has developed to become one of the leading higher educational institutions in Indonesia with 16 faculties and 1 Graduate Programs.

      Up to the end of the Academic year 2006/2007 Faculty of Dentistry has graduates 4.181 students, consisted of : Regular Programs 1.697 graduates, Professional Program 2.273 graduates, and Specialist program 214 graduates. There are 12 professors among 142 lecturers teaching at the Faculty of  Dentistry.

    • The Faculty of Medicine Universitas Padjadjaran was officially established on 11 September 1957. The Faculty of Medicine UNPAD since 2001 opened the international class which is fully conducted in English. The international program has a very good response particularly from students as well as education institutions in Malaysia. This is based on the reason that Malaysia in general has similar tropical diseases with our country. The International program was the first program of the faculty that applied Problem Based Learning methods.

      The International Program was purposed only for non Indonesian citizens. To manage the placement test as well as the admission process, UNPAD has cooperation with many overseas education agents.

      Study Process
      The study process of the Medical Undergraduate Academic Program utilizes a integrated learning approach, based on the problem and competence based study, which encourages students to employ self directed learning as a preparation for long life learning.

      The language used in the program is English.

      Graduation Criteria
      The students are considered to have accomplished Bachelor in Medicine Program if they have fulfilled all requirements as follow:

      1. Minimum CG PA of 2.5.
      2. Pass in all subjects within 12 semesters.
      3. Fulfil all administrative requirements at the Faculty/University.


      The 5 years course is fully recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia, MCC and JPA.

      Student Dormitories
      Bale Padjadjaran Student Dormitories

      All of the Faculty of Medicine new students (regular program, International Program as well as the Twinning Program) on their first year of study SHOULD stay at the student dormitories. The purposes are to make students easier in adaptation with the environment, making co operations with their colleagues and adaptable for any learning methods in the faculty.

      Bale Padjadjaran is the name of the dormitory. There are 4 dormitory buildings with the capacities of 350 beds and completed facilities that support all of the student needs such as 24 hours free Internet access, laundry service, some supporting facilities to maintain student interests and hobbies such as the jogging track, music studio, karaoke room and fitness room. There are also some meeting rooms, canteens/café, mini market and campus garden. The dormitories are located closed to masjid Ibnu Sina Universitas Padjadjaran.

    • The statues of Department of Pharmacy was promoted to be Faculty of Pharmacy  on 17 October 2006.
